Emerging from the glorious dunes of the Thar comes Raali, a blend of age old tradition and contemporary flair. Raali is committed to slow fashion: our passion lies in creating pieces that have longevity, that appeal to the eye, to the mind and to the soul.
Born in Jodhpur (and brought up in Jaipur), our founder, Vibha Bishnoi, is an artist at heart. Years of informally pursuing and practising fine arts and crafts along with a love for sewing, embroidery, textiles, colors and silhouettes, led her to conceptualize and work towards creating Raali. Vibha started out with her focus on the traditional Raali i.e. gudari (a handquilted layered mat), a much loved and sentimental possession she received from older aunts and grandparents, when she had her children. Customarily, a Raali is lovingly crafted by older women in the family and given as a gift to new mothers. This concept revolves around love, tradition, passing down values, and upcycling pre-worn fabrics to create something new, beautiful, and practical. With the humble Raali as the origin of this journey, Vibha seeks to explore various traditional crafts and collaborate with artisans across India, with a view to crafting products that seamlessly blend into contemporary homes while preserving the essence of age-old craftsmanship.
